Frequently Asked Questions
Will my controller feel the same after the repair?
That depends on the joystick you choose. Original Alps sticks are closest to the traditional factory setup. TMR sticks can have a slightly different feel, and we personally prefer them enough to install them in our own controllers.
Is this just a temporary drift fix?
No. We replace the joystick module itself rather than using a temporary software adjustment or cleaning trick.
Will opening my controller damage it?
A properly performed repair should not ruin the controller. We carefully disassemble it, perform the joystick replacement, reassemble it, calibrate it and test it before returning it.
Will stick drift come back?
Traditional potentiometer joysticks can wear again over time. TMR joysticks use a different magnetic sensing method and don't rely on the same traditional contact surface, so traditional drift is not a thing. But you can get drift if the center spring gets too worn to hold the stick at a suitable center position. But this takes a very long time to happen and TMR sticks can often be recalibrated to compensate for this.
Do I need to replace both joysticks?
No. We can replace only the affected joystick. Some customers choose to replace both at the same time, especially when upgrading to TMR.
How long does it take?
Most joystick repairs are completed within 1 day after we receive the controller.
What does the warranty cover?
Parts and service are covered for 90 days under normal wear.
What if stick drift isn't actually the problem?
We can test the controller and let you know what we find before proceeding with the repair.
